    Welcome to Fes! Once you arrive at Fes airport, we will be waiting for you and transfer you comfortably to your riad or hotel. After checking in, you can relax and recover from your journey. If you arrive early, we will have time to begin discovering the atmosphere of the city. Fes is one of Morocco’s oldest imperial cities and is known for its authentic traditions and deep history. You can take a light walk through the nearby streets and start feeling the spirit of Morocco. The heart of the city is Fes el-Bali, the old Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is like stepping into a living museum filled with narrow alleyways, traditional markets, and skilled artisans working with leather, metal, wood, and ceramics. Today is mainly for relaxing and enjoying your first impressions of Morocco. In the evening, you may enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and try traditional Moroccan dishes such as tagine or harira soup before returning to your accommodation. Overnight stay in Fes.

    After breakfast at your riad, we will begin exploring Fes with a professional local guide. We will start by visiting the Royal Palace gate, famous for its beautiful golden doors. Then we will walk through the Mellah, the old Jewish Quarter, where you will learn about the Jewish community that once lived in Fes. Next, we will drive to a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the Medina, where you can enjoy a full view of the old city surrounded by ancient walls. After that, we will enter Fes el-Bali on foot. Inside the Medina, we will visit Al Qarawiyyin University, recognized as the oldest university in the world. We will continue to Al Attarine Madrasa and Bou Inania Madrasa, both known for their detailed tile work and traditional Moroccan architecture. We will also visit the Nejjarine Fountain and the famous Chouara Tannery, where leather is dyed using traditional methods that have been practiced for centuries. During the tour, we will see local artisans making pottery, carpets, and metal crafts. After lunch, we will visit a pottery cooperative outside the Medina to see how ceramics are made and decorated by hand. In the late afternoon, we will return you to your riad.     After breakfast, we will leave Fes and drive south toward the Sahara Desert. We will begin by crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop will be in Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco.” We will walk around to see the famous Atlas Lion statue and enjoy the fresh mountain air. Next, we will continue to the Cedar Forest near Azrou, where we will see the Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. We will then drive through Berber villages such as Timhdit, Zaida, and Midelt. After a lunch stop, we will continue through the High Atlas Mountains. In the afternoon, we will stop at panoramic viewpoints overlooking the Ziz Valley, known for its large palm groves and oasis landscapes. As we approach Erfoud, famous for fossils, the landscape gradually changes into desert scenery. By early evening, we will arrive in Merzouga and check into a hotel near the dunes. Dinner and overnight in Merzouga.

    Today we will fully discover the desert region of Merzouga. We will begin by visiting Khamlia village, where we will listen to traditional Gnawa music performed by local musicians whose ancestors came from Sub-Saharan Africa. Next, we will drive off-road through the desert to meet a nomadic Berber family. We will spend time learning about their simple lifestyle and how they survive in the Sahara. We will also visit the old mines near the Moroccan-Algerian border, which hold historical importance from the French colonial period. In the afternoon, we will return to the village to prepare for the camel trekking experience. We will ride camels across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi and stop on a high dune to watch the sunset. After sunset, we will continue to the desert camp. Once at the camp, we will check into your private tent and enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner. In the evening, we will gather around the campfire with Berber music and enjoy stargazing under the clear desert sky. Overnight in a desert camp.

    After breakfast, we will leave the desert and drive toward Rissani, the historical center of the Tafilalet region. Rissani was once a major trading hub for caravans coming from Timbuktu. We will visit its traditional market, where locals sell spices, dates, clothes, and livestock. Next, we will continue through desert landscapes toward Tinghir. Here, we will visit the beautiful Todra Gorges, where massive cliffs rise up to 300 meters high. We will take time to walk along the canyon and enjoy the natural scenery. After lunch, we will drive through the Valley of Roses, known for its Damask rose products, and continue along the famous Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. By evening, we will arrive in Ouarzazate and check into your accommodation. Overnight stay in Ouarzazate.

    After breakfast, we will start exploring Ouarzazate. We will first visit Atlas Studios, where many international movies and TV series were filmed. After that, we will continue to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most famous kasbahs in Morocco. We will walk through its narrow alleys and climb to the top for panoramic views of the surrounding desert landscape. Later, we will drive through the High Atlas Mountains and cross the Tizi N’Tichka Pass at 2,260 meters above sea level. We will stop along the way to enjoy the mountain views and take photos. By late afternoon, we will arrive in Marrakech and transfer you to your riad. Overnight stay in Marrakech.

Finally, we will explore Jemaa El-Fna square, where street performers, storytellers, and musicians bring the square to life. Free evening on your own. Overnight stay in Marrakech.
